GUNN: Peacefully on April 20th, 2013, Hazel Irene Gunn passed away at the Lions Prairie Manor at the age of 64 years. She was the beloved daughter of Rhoda and Les Gunn of Neepawa. Hazel was predeceased by her parents, Rhoda and Les Gunn. She is left to mourn by her cousins, Jim Gunn, Phyllis (Bruce) Swiscoski, Jack (Janice) Follows, Gerald (Val) Follows, Gordon (Sandy) Sparkes, and Marilyn (Fred) McKay. She will be especially missed by her friends, Irene Welton, Grace and Roger Fooks, Pamela (Murray) Fooks, Angela (Jim) Doyle, Robert (Shanna) Fooks and Cheryl Nickels. Hazel was born and raised in Neepawa, Manitoba. She was employed by the Portage la Prairie Mutual Insurance Company for forty two years. Hazel volunteered for the Portage Fair at Fair time. She enjoyed participating in company events and social activities. Her summers were spent at Clear Lake. Christmas was a special time of year for Hazel. She loved decorating her home and buying presents. She always took the time to make each present very very special. Hazel has been cared for at the Lions Prairie Manor for the last four years. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 11:00 am at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel, 56 Royal Road South, Portage la Prairie, MB with Rev. Marg Scott officiating, viewing will be held prior to the service. Following the reception, interment will take place at the Riverside Cemetery, Neepawa Manitoba. In lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully accepted at the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 21 Royal Road S., Portage la Prairie, MB, R1N 1T8, Lions Prairie Manor Foundation Inc, 24 - 9th Street NE, Portage la Prairie, MB, R1N 3V4, or to a charity of your choice.A tree will be planted in memory and cared forby McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel. 204-857-4021. mckenziesportagefuneralchapel.com
