DERBOWKA: Mike Derbowka, of Brandon Manitoba passed away suddenly at his home at the age of 80 years old. Mike was born in Wroxton, Saskatchewan on November 18, 1932. He then moved with his family to Russell, Manitoba where they farmed until he moved away from home to start his own life. Mike joined Canadian Propane as a branch manager, which later became ICG Propane. He was with ICG for 35 years before he retired in Brandon Manitoba where he has lived for the last 25 years with his family. Mike loved his job and was highly thought of by all his employees for his kind nature. Mikes retirement was spent carving wooden ducks, making bird houses and spending time with his 2 grandsons who he adored and loved. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Mike will always be remembered and loved as a kind, gentle man who was always willing to help anyone in need. He will be dearly missed and never forgotten by his daughter Michelle Derbowka, son Ralph Johnson and grandsons Damen Macgillivray and Tyler Glowach. To honour Mikes wishes, cremation has taken place and a graveside ceremony will be held in Russell Manitoba later this summer where he will be laid to rest with his late wife Arlene Derbowka.
