MUDRAY: On Monday, April 22, 2013 at the Douglas Campbell Lodge, Stella Mudray of Portage la Prairie, widow of the late Michael Mudray passed away at the age of 97 years. Funeral service will be held in the chapel of the Omega Funeral Home on Friday, April 26, 2013 with the Deacon Michael Strilec officiating. Interment will follow in Hillside Memorial Park. Stella was born on May 29, 1915 in Preeceville, Saskatchewan. She was raised and received her education in the East Bay District, finishing her schooling at Dauphin Collegiate. She then taught on a teaching permit in the East Bay School. On June 22, 1940 she married Michael Mudray and they lived in East Bay until 1959 when they moved to Brandon. In Brandon she worked at the Brandon Mental Hospital until illness force her to retire in 1970. In 1972 they moved to Portage la Prairie. Stella was a member of the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Assumption, the Ukrainian Catholic Womens League. She enjoyed gardening, growing flowers, crocheting, sewing and flower arranging. She always enjoyed visiting with all family and friends who stopped by for a visit. Predeceased by her husband Michael in 2012, 2 brothers Michael & Bill, three sisters Eva, Eileen, Alice and Mary, she leaves to mourn her passing two sons; Michael of Brandon, Barry (Anne) of Winnipeg, three grandchildren; Tara (Steve), Trisha (Chris) and Colin, two great grandchildren; Teresa and Catherine. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Flowers gratefully declined but should friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
