PANGMAN: Murray Arnold, beloved husband of Mavis and father to Don (Bev), David, Sharon (Tom) Wilson, Sandra (Cornell) Vanderhulst; stepfather to Shelly (Oral) Gurr and Blaine Waldie, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Also a loving grandfather to Michelle (Wade) Armstrong, Amber (Ken) Chalcraft, Mathew (Jenn) Wilson, Mark Wilson, Kathy Vanderhulst, Krista (Matt) Neufeld, David Waldie, Tara Waldie, Braden (Ashley) Gurr, Sarah Gurr (fiancé Brett Morgan), great grandfather to Cameron and Colton Armstrong, Avery and Athena Wilson, Ella Neufeld and Charlotte Gurr. Murray also leaves his sister Eileen Quinn and her family, Lana (Bernard), Lorna (Kyle), Lorrie (Randy), Linda (Jim), Lisa (Ken) and Larry (Donna); brother-in-law Lanny (Regina) Packard; sisters-in-law Darcy (David) Ross, Dallas (Eric) Schindler. He is also fondly remembered by many cousins, great nieces and nephews. Murray was predeceased by his parents; brother-in-law Harvey Packard and nephew Andrew Ross. Murray was born to Leslie and Annie Pangman on November 21, 1928 in Hamiota, Manitoba. He took his schooling at McConnell. He worked for Pool Elevators in Hamiota and Rapid City. He started his 35 year career with Unicume Storage in 1958. In his younger years, Murray was active in baseball and curling. He was a loyal Wheat Kings hockey fan and he and Mavis had many great times with their hockey friends cheering on the home town team. Murray was past president of the Brandon Rotary Club where he helped with many fundraising efforts; he was entering his 29th year of perfect attendance. He was a two time recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow Award. Murray enjoyed the visits of his Rotarian friends while in hospital. Mavis and family would like to thank everyone who took the time to visit, phone, and bring food and flowers during Murrays illness and since his passing. They would also like to thank the doctors and staff who cared for Murray at the BRHC and the Assiniboine Centre. Thank you to Vern Schneider and Memories Chapel for their care and compassion during this difficult time. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held on Friday, May 10, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Following interment friends and relatives are invited to join the family at a Celebration of Murrays Life at 2:00 p.m. at Central United Church, 327 - 8th Street. If friends so desire, donations in memory of Murray may be made to the Rotary Club of Brandon, Westman Foundation, 105 Willow Lane Drive, Brandon MB R7B 0N2, or a charity of choice.
