WIEBE: It is with great sadness the family of Elizabeth “Betty” Wiebe announce her passing after a courageous battle with cancer at the Assiniboine Centre of Brandon, Manitoba on Sunday, July 7, 2013 at the age of 72. Betty was born in Stockton, Manitoba on August 10, 1940, later as a young teenager, moving to Brandon. Betty is survived by her son Harold (Carola) Wiebe; granddaughters Jennifer (Mark) Wiebe, Nicole (DJ) Wiebe; brother Lloyd (Lynne) Leader; sister Janet (Mel) Mitchler; nieces Norma Slimmon (Dave), Cheryl (Chris) Hastings; nephew Kevin Mitchler; great nephews Scott and Kyle Slimmon, Matthew Mitchler; great nieces Samantha and Jodi-Lynn Mitchler, Breanna Slimmon and Jada Sereda. She was predeceased by her parents Mae and Harry Leader. As per Betty’s request a small family memorial was held on Wednesday, July 10, 2013. If family and friends so desire, donations in memory of Betty may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 415 – 1st Street, Brandon, MB R7A 2W8.
