RUSYN: Nellie Rusyn (née Nowitski), age 89, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the Fairview Nursing Home on August 31, 2013. Nellie was predeceased by her first husband, Michael Salyn. Nellie will be dearly missed by her husband Peter, her children Ed (Lyn) Salyn, Iris Izewsky, Bill (Diane) Salyn, Fran (David) Bebbington, ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Also left to mourn her loss are her brother Fred Nowitski, sister Julia Kelor and numerous nieces and nephews. Divine Liturgy will be held at St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 927 Assiniboine Avenue, on Friday, September 6, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Michael Tkachuk as Celebrant and Tony Yuriy as Cantor. Interment will take place at the Brandon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nellie’s memory to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 4B-457-9th Street, Brandon, MB, R7A 1K2.
