LOUIS: Niles Louis. On September 20, 2013 Louis Niles, beloved husband of Jean passed away at Hillcrest Personal Care Home with his loving wife by his side. Born November 14, 1920, in Eatonia, Saskatchewan, the third son of Anna and Karl Niles. Louis had three brothers and four sisters. He moved to Manitoba with family in 1937 to Arden Ridge. The family moved to Brandon in 1940 and Louis went straight from the farm to Winnipeg to enlist in the Army. Louis served overseas in England, Italy and Holland for five years and after the war was over he remained to serve with Military Police (Provost) for one year. When he was back in Brandon he worked at the Brandon Mental Hospital as an engineer where he met Jean Bychek. Louis and Jean were married in 1969. He was predeceased by his parents, Jeans parents, three brothers Edward, Adnel, Jack, two sisters Carol Keeble and Ruth Brown and an infant sister Gracie, Jeans twin sister and her four brothers. He is survived by his wife Jean, his sisters Freda Ridgen and Loreen Niles and brother-in-law Martin and sister-in-law Leona Bychek and many nieces and nephews. His graveside service was held at the Brandon Cemetery Friday, September 27th in the Veterans section with Rev. Laird Russell-Yearwood officiating.
