BRAY: In Loving Memory of Cora BrayMarch 23, 1933 – Oct. 27, 2013 Cora Bray was born on March 23, 1933 on the Oak River Reserve (now Sioux Valley Dakota Nation) in Manitoba to parents James and Ada (Wasicuna) Kiyewakan (Flying Holy). When Cora was 8 years old she attended residential school. That same year Cora’s mother passed away and she was then mostly raised by her grandmother Emma Campbell. Cora married Howard Robert Bray on December 9, 1960 and together they raised a family of 5. Cora and Howard farmed in the Cherry Ridge district. Cora was an avid baker, gardener and bingo enthusiast. She enjoyed playing cribbage with family and friends, doing handicrafts and knitting. Cora loved music – she played eight instruments and loved many styles of dancing. Every year Cora attended the annual Pow Wow in Sioux Valley, Manitoba to spend time with her siblings and their families. Cora entered into rest on October 27, 2013. She was predeceased by her: mother and father, husband Howard, son Ted, sisters Nancy, Rose and in infancy Pearly Jane, brothers Morris and in infancy Wilfred Leo, aunt Susie Pratt and other extended family members. She leaves to treasure her memory: her children, Brenda (Lloyd), Della (Wolf), Danny and Cindy; grandchildren, Tyler (Amanda), Londa, Felecia (Steve), Levi (Kayla), Bryden , Kelsey (Ira), Josh, Dylan, and Sarah; and great grandchildren, Shelby, Remi and Harmony. She also leaves her two sisters Josephine and Rita as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friendsFuneral services were held at the Nipawin United Church, Nipawin, SK Friday, November 1, 2013 2:00 p.m. Officiating Reverend Lorna King Internment Mabel Hill Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society.
