McCORRISTER: It is with deep regrets that we announce the death of Elmer William McCorrister on July 29, 2013 at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 78 years. Elmer was living in Birch River, Manitoba until he was hospitalized. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jeanette McCorrister and his children, Colette (Brad) Tweed, Debra (Jim) Cook, Earl (Delores) McCorrister, Danny (Nicole) McCorrister, Loretta (Donnivan) Cournoyer. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nephews, numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents and other siblings. Elmer had many jobs in his life but the jobs he loved the most was his trapping and his guiding. Thank you to all the doctors and nurses at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg and the Swan River Hospital for all their care and patience throughout his stay. Donations can be made to the charity of your choice in the memory of Elmer McCorrister. Wojcik’s Funeral Chapel, Winnipeg, were in care of arrangements.
