MAGUIRE: Mae Maguire (nee Peter) January 18, 1941 to November 25, 2013 . We have a hole in our hearts today as the Maguire family announces the passing of our beloved Mom, Wife, Sister and Grandma in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Mom is predeceased by her loving husband, Jim. Remaining to remember her are son Trevor and his wife Deborah, daughter Shannon and husband Kurt, brother AJ and wife Marilyn, sister Joyce and four adoring granddaughters Meghan, Brianna, Chloe and Kira who knew her as “Grandma Sweetie”. Mom grew up in Elkwater, Alberta where her father, Harry, was a forest ranger and mother, Hilda, ran the local store. She married Dad in 1959 and they moved to Brandon in 1972 where they lived for over 32 years raising their family and enjoying their cabin at Lake Metigoshe until they retired and returned to Medicine Hat. Mom enjoyed the simple things in life: Saturday morning coffees with her sister, working in her amazing gardens, an iced tea on the cabin deck with the Turners or a rum and coke with her brother, traveling around the world with her friend Joan, scrapbooking with Deb, babysitting her granddaughters in Toronto and while there, doing a little shopping or taking in a show, and of course, her daily calls from Trevor and Meghan. She has been known to be late for coffee dates because she was tied up on a call with Trevor. The only rule was don’t phone Mom during a CFL game.Mom, we will always love and remember you. Thank you for being part or our lives. A private family service will be held at a later date at St. Margaret’s Church in Eagle Butte, Alberta. Donations in Mom’s memory can be made to Canadian Cancer Society #102 Crestwood Square One, 1865 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, AB T1A 1Z8 or a charity of your choice. Cancer screening saves lives: we urge everyone to get tested. To e-mail an expression of sympathy, please direct it to: pattfh@telusplanet.net subject heading: Mae Maguire, or you may visit www.pattisonfuneralhome.com and leave a message of condolence.
