CHURCH: Audrey Patricia Church (nee Colter) June 1, 1925 December 9, 2013. It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Audrey where she was surrounded by family at the Baldur Personal Care Home. Audrey is survived by her loving sons Ron and Garry, daughter in law Wendy, granddaughter Rosalyn (Patrick) and grandson Gordon (Ariel). She was predeceased by her husband Gordon, her granddaughter Catherine, her parents William and Effie, brother Bobby, and step-siblings Delmar, Norma and Enid. Audrey was born in Crystal City, Manitoba in 1925. She graduated from the Brandon General Hospital in 1948 where she worked in the O.R. She then took post-grad O.R. training at Montreal General, later returning to Brandon where she became an O.R. supervisor. She continued her nursing career in Killarney working at the Tri-Lake Health Centre and at Bayside Personal Care home retiring in 1993. Audrey married Gordon Church in 1953 and together they farmed and enjoyed their hobby of raising and showing Clydesdale horses. Audrey and Gordon raised two sons Ron and Garry who would later farm with their parents and continue their families hobby. The horses were a big part of Audrey's life. The family participated in horse shows throughout Manitoba, as well as Agribition in Regina and the Royal Winter Fair in Toronto. Audrey was a member of the Killarney United Church, the Killarney Agricultural Society and The Order of the Eastern Star, where she held various offices throughout her volunteering years. Audrey enjoyed her grandchildren and attended as many events throughout their school years as she could and was always thrilled to hear them play their music. A funeral service will be held at Killarney United Church on Saturday, December 14th at 12 noon. Interment will be held at the Killarney Cemetery.
