SHEARDOWN: Catherine Margaret “Kay” passed away at Valleyview Care Centre on December 10, 2013 at the age of 64. Kay was born on January 31, 1949 at Hamiota, Manitoba. Kay is lovingly remembered by her mother, Marjorie; brothers Doug (Wallianna), nephews Gerald and Christopher (Judy); Reg, nephew Brent and niece Jana (Mike) McMurray - great nephew Reid, and their mother Gaye; sisters, Georgia (Dave) Hanwell, nieces Cecilie, Alicia and Brenna (Dan) De Angelis; Shari Maguire, niece Jennifer and her father Darren. Kay will also be remembered by Aunt Jean Mackie; cousins and many caregivers at COR Enterprises and Valleyview Care Centre. She was predeceased by her Dad, Ed, in January, 2010. Kay’s early education was provided by The Association for Mentally Retarded and then she spent over 40 years at COR Enterprises Inc., previously known as CAMROC. Kay loved to play her own card games and enjoyed watching sports on TV. She also spent hours on the swing in the backyard. Her preference was for country music, and her record collection was large. Kay lived with her family at home until moving to Valleyview Care Centre in 2011. The family has chosen not to have a funeral service. A graveside service will be held at a later date in Hamiota, Manitoba.
