WARDLE: Anne (nee Rowntree) March 14th, 1945 – December 13th, 2013. It is with extremely heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Anne Wardle, surrounded by family, at the age of 68. Anne was born in Stannington, Morpeth, England. She met Dad at the tender age of 15, and they were married June 4th, 1966. In total, Mom and Dad were together for 54 years. In 1969, their son, Kevin, was born, and their daughter, Julia, followed in 1971. In 1984, our family left the farm in England and immigrated to Canada, settling in Arden, Manitoba, where we once again, began farming. Mom worked on the farms, raised her children and was often employed outside of the home throughout her life. By 1995, Mom and Dad sold the farm and relocated by Riding Mountain, on the edge of the park. Mom loved her beautiful home and she thoroughly enjoyed puttering in her garden, attending to her flowers and vegetables. She often said it was getting too much for her, but every year, she continued to care for it. Mom also enjoyed knitting, reading, writing, baking, and finding that ever sought-after bargain! Mom loved all animals. She cared and loved them as though they were her children. Her beloved Amber, Pippa and Coco were her babies. She further adored her children and grand-children, and would do anything for them. ‘Amber Nana’ would often read to her kids, and sing and dance with them. She would attend as many school, music and sporting events as she could and would always be seen wiping a tear aside out of pride. Mom had a big heart and was warm and loving to everyone who encountered her. Mom is survived by her loving husband, Ken, son, Kevin (Kenia), grandchildren, Katelyn, Dylan, and Kylie, daughter, Julia (Craig), grandchildren, Aleigh and Alex, and her brother, Trevor (Linda), Uncle, Eddie, cousins, Audrey and Dorothy (Derek), who was also her best friend, sister-in-law, Katy, brother-in-law, Les (Mary), as well as many nephews and nieces and their families. Mom was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Edna, sister, Edna and twin brothers, David and Derek. Mom fought a good battle, and was strong. She will be truly missed by her family and friends, but will remain in our hearts forever. We celebrated Mom’s life on Friday, December 20th at the St. James Anglican Church in Neepawa, MB, officiated by Father Chad McCharles. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mom may be made with the Heart and Stroke Foundation of MB. White’s Funeral Home, Neepawa, MB in care of arrangements. 1-204-476-2848.
