ROWE: Isabelle Grace (Renwick) Rowe passed away Sunday, October 27th at the age of 89 in Deloraine, MB. Isabelle was born at Wakopa, Manitoba on May 9, 1924 the 8th child of David & Grace Renwick. After schooling Isabelle worked as a telephone operator, then as an egg grader in Boissevain and Waskada. In Waskada she met Russell Rowe and they married December 8, 1945. They celebrated 51 years before Russell passed away. During their early years they lived on the Rowe home farm near Waskada, then Elva and to Goodlands in 1960 where they resided until retirement to Deloraine in 1989. Russell and Isabelle were blessed with three children, Lynn, Wayne and Bryce. There was nothing more important to Isabelle than time spent with family and she left a legacy of generously sharing her renowned cooking abilities with friends and family. It was with great pride she began teaching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren how to bake or cook something they loved from Grandmas recipe box. Isabelle spent many years teaching 4-H and in her later years enjoyed crafting quilts either with the Goodlands Quilting ladies or on her own, trying many new knitting or quilting patterns. She took great pride in being able to do these things in her own home up until the time of her passing. Isabelle was predeceased by her husband Russell in 1997, daughter Lynn Bawtinhimer in 2010, sisters Laura Wall, Alice Jasper, Irene Bell, Jean Miller, Ina Toft and brothers Keith and William Lorne, as well as Russells siblings. She is survived by her sons Wayne (Julie) Rowe, Christopher and McKenzie; Bryce (Laurie) Rowe, Bethany and Nevada; Lynns family Bill, Kim Bawtinhimer, Tara Besser (John Braun); and great-granddaughters Jaelynn & Ali Besser; her sister Ada (Scott) Meggison and many nieces and nephews. Isabelle was laid to rest at the Goodlands' Cemetery in a private graveside service on October 31, 2013 followed by a time of remembering and fellowship at Goodlands Community Hall. Special memories were shared by niece Linda Sprung and grandchildren Bethany and Christopher Rowe. Many thanks to Glen Whetter and the congregation of the Goodlands Fellowship Community Church for the wonderful service, as well as Paul Smith and staff of Smiths Funeral Homes of Deloraine as well as the many friends and family being their during our families loss. If friends so desire donations may be made in Isabelles memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 824 18th Street, Unit 3, Brandon, MB, R7A 5B7.
