BROWN: Connie (Constance Myrtle) Brown of Monterey Estates and formally of Carroll, Manitoba, beloved wife to the late Norman Brown, and dear mother to Marilyn Williams and the late Diane Doyle, passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Monday, December 16, 2013. Mom was born in Stavely, Alberta on February 14, 1922. She was the second youngest of Joseph and Ada Browns eleven children. She attended school in Stavely and Plum Coulee. After graduation, she took a business course in Calgary and upon completion worked at banks in Stavely and Vulcan. Mom met a young Airman, Norm Brown, who was stationed at the Claresholm Air Base. Mom and Dad were later married in Stavely on December 22, 1944. They lived in Claresholm and then after dad was discharged, they moved to moms family farm, where they helped her dad until her brothers got home from the war. In 1949, mom and dad moved to Carroll, where they farmed for the next twenty three years. During their life on the farm mom helped dad; she always had a huge garden and loved her flowers and yard. Mom was a great seamstress, she only needed to see a picture or the piece of clothing and she would put a pattern together and sew it. Given her passion for sewing, she volunteered to teach sewing for the Carroll 4-H Club for many years. Mom also enjoyed curling, she curled for many years while they lived in Carroll. In 1968, mom and dad moved to Brandon. Again mom spent many hours in their yard, putting her love of flowers to work and enjoyed her time sewing or knitting, especially when her great-grandchildren came along sewing cherished blankets and pyjamas, to fixing anything that needed a little repair. Mom and dad also enjoyed many years of golfing, camping and following the horse races, where evenings were spent around the campfires enjoying the company of friends, family and music. In October of 1999, mom and dad moved to Monterey Estates where they enjoyed lots of friendships over coffee, cribbage and other community activities. Mom leaves behind her loving daughter Marilyn Williams (Don Jessiman), her children Michele Williams and Dionne Williams, her children Kai and Kali Boyko; son-in-law Dell Doyle and children Shawna (Sean) Gustafson, their children Gabrielle, Rowan and Elise; Slade (Hannah) Doyle, their children Alexandra, Samantha and Annabelle; Dari Doyle and her children Carter and Payton Murray. A sister Eva Wendleboe and brother Hugh Brown also survive. Interment at Rosewood Memorial Gardens preceded the Ceremony to celebrate Connies life which was held at Monterey Estates Community Centre on Saturday, December 28, 2013 with Bishop Bruce Palmer and Mr. Lyall Smith, of the Church of Latter Day Saints officiating.
