STRUTH: Kenneth Robert William Struth, passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre after a courageous battle with lymphoma. He was 64. Ken was born in Killarney, MB on March 5, 1949 and grew up and completed high school there. The eldest son of Bob and Norma Struth, Ken enjoyed playing hockey and later became a journeyman plumber and pipefitter. Ken married Linda Ransom on August 28, 1970 and while completing school at Red River Community College and his apprenticeship, they relocated to Brandon. There they had three sons. Over the years Ken worked on many industrial construction jobs around western Manitoba. He was well known in the industry and was a member of UA local 254 for more than 40 years. He loved hunting and fishing, gardening, and working on projects in his garage and shop. After Linda’s passing in August, 2005, Ken was on his own for some time until he met his new partner Darlene Lenton, also of Brandon. Darlene’s extended family and children grew to know Ken and they enjoyed many happy times together at Lake Metigoshe and in Red Deer, AB. Ken is predeceased by his father Robert H. Struth and his wife, Linda Struth. He is survived by his sons, Cory (Tara), Clint (Carla), Chad (Wendy), and six grandchildren, Henry, George, Caden, Callum, Austin, and Lauren and his mother Norma, sister Penny McMillan (Charlie), Craig (Phyllis) and family, Jerry (Eleanor) and family. From Ken’s extended family, Ken is survived by partner Darlene Lenton, Darla Cole (Steven), James Lenton (Andrea), and grandchildren Casey, Max, Nash, and Lena. A Celebration of Ken’s Life was held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street, on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. A private family interment took place at the Brandon Cemetery, laying Dad to rest beside his first love, Linda.
