SCHNEIDER: 1912 - 2013. Ethel Schneider, beloved wife of the late Harvey Schneider, passed away peacefully at Country Meadows Personal Care Home, Neepawa, on the morning of November 30, 2013 at 101 years of age. Ethel was born on March 17, 1912 at the family home in Edrans, Manitoba. She was the fourth child of seven. Predeceased by her husband Harvey, brothers Percy, Norman, John and sister Mabel (Moore). Ethel is survived by sisters Eadie (Forsly) and Ada (Vogt), nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great- nephews. Ethel grew up in the Edrans district and dated Harvey Schneider until their marriage on November 9, 1940. They farmed at Edrans from this time on until retiring from the farm and moving to Neepawa in 1976. Ethel and Harvey were people who loved company and made friends very easy while helping in the community and entertaining young and old alike in their home. After Harvey passed in 1990, Ethel continued to live in their retirement home in Neepawa until 1994 and then moved into Kinsman Kourts. While living there she met even more people to become friends. Ethel enjoyed activities and get togethers while being in the Kourts. Ethel looked forward to Fridays to go to the Legion meat draws and get together with many friends from all communities and have a good visit. Ethel lived at Kinsmen Kourts for almost 20 years, then she had to go to the hospital for some health concerns. After a stay in hospital she moved to Country Meadows where she passed away. Funeral service was held December 5, 2013 at Whites Funeral Chapel with Rita Friesen officiating. Pallbearers were Brian Crammond, Lorne Crammond, Richard Patterson, Brian Patterson, Calvin Hiebert and Steven Vogt.
