DANYLUK: Larry Max Danyluk. With great sadness the Danyluk's announce the passing of Larry on February 2, 2014 with wife Edie at his side. Larry was born May 22, 1948 in Shoal Lake, MB to proud parents Max and Jessie. Larry was the second of four children. His older brother David, younger brother Garry and youngest sister Janet grew up in the Oakburn area where his parents farmed, then eventually moved to Winnipeg. Larry loved his childhood on the farm and despite years living in Winnipeg and in northern Manitoba and Saskatchewan, he would return to his rural roots to raise his own family. Larry's adventures in the north began when he joined the Hudson's Bay Company out of high school. He worked in and managed stores over northern Manitoba and Saskatchewan. He met the love of his life, Edie Jones, while in Norway House, MB. They were married in Napinka United Church on October 30, 1971. They lived in the north together until moving to Winnipeg where Larry took his Meat Cutters Certification at Red River College. During a visit home to Melita, Larry took a job at Souris Valley Processors where he spent the rest of his career. Edie and Larry moved back to Melita in time for the birth of their first daughter Lisa. In 1977, they moved to the acreage that would be their family home. Daughter Elaine was born in 1981. Larry loved being part of the tight-knit community. During his daughters school years he took part in chaperoning school events, was a 4-H instructor and his favourite summer past-time of coaching softball. Over the years of living in between Napinka and Melita he took part in recreational hockey, a part of the United Church Committee, golfing and his favourite winter past-time of curling. He enjoyed mentoring youth from Melita School that worked with him at SVP. He enjoyed town events and would take his out of town guests to all Melita offered - showing off his town with pride. Larry's number one priority was family. He put the needs of them first and passed this value down to his daughters. There was no greater pride in his life than the accomplishments of his family. He leaves his wife of 42 years Edie; daughters Lisa (Mark) and Elaine (Royce), and the apple of his eye granddaughter Isabella to cherish his memory, along with brother David (children Eddie, Audrey, David and Adrienne), younger brother Garry (wife Ginny and children Steven and Kaila), nieces Ann Louise (Jose), Diane (Tim), brother-in-law Wayne (wife Linda and children Tammy and Corey), sister-in-law Barb (husband Fred and children Darrel, Ryan and Andrew) and brother-in-law Bruce (daughter Melissa), as well as, many grandnieces and grandnephews. Larry was predeceased by his father Max, sister Janet, mother Jessie, brother-in-law David, father-in-law Howard, mother- in-law Dora and nephew Christopher. A celebration of Larry's life was held Friday, February 7, 2014 at Victoria United Church, Melita, MB with interment at Napinka Cemetery. ~ A Life's Work Well Done ~
