MYRAH: The death of Irene Myrah, age 81 years, beloved wife of Sherman, occurred on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Irene was born on the family farm near Humboldt, Saskatchewan on January 1, 1933. She was raised on the farm and spent many hours with her horse. Prior to becoming a full-time mom of four children, she was a dental assistant. She loved to garden and cook, especially for family that showed up every Sunday for many years. Knitting was a favourite pastime and there are many people wearing a pair of her slippers. One of the ways she showed her love was to make sure there was a bag of her chocolate chip cookies in your hand when you left the farm. Irene is survived by her husband, Sherman, of 57 years; son Brett (Barb), grandchildren Kristin and Brittany; daughter Sheri Kuipers (Harold), grandchildren Sherallyn Robertson (Dan), Missie MacLean (Kevin), Sammi Brand (Harry) and Ben; daughter Lorinda Myrah, grandchildren Danny and Eric Hysop; daughter Penny Myrah (Wayne), grandchildren Dirk Michaluk (Nicole), Dillon Michaluk and Darby Nolan (Cody); fifteen great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and special niece Phyllis Lightfoot. She was predeceased by her granddaughter Lainey Kuipers, parents Charles and Janet Piatt, parents-in-law Fred and Lynn Myrah, brother Leslie and his wife Vi Kirkwood, sister Doreen and her husband Ken Brown. A private family service will take place at a later date. If friends so desire, donations in memory of Irene may be made to the Brandon Regional Health Centre Foundation for Palliative Care or BRHC Cancer Services, 150 McTavish Avenue East, Brandon, MB R7A 2B3. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.memorieschapel.com. Arrangements with Memories Chapel &Pre-Planning Centre, 204-727-0330.
