After completing the eighth grade at Lindal school she began working in a variety of domestic jobs until at age 22 when she enlisted in the Canadian Women's Army Corps where she served for over three years at Camp Shilo and Brandon. During her time in Brandon she visited the Alliance Church where Rev. Ed Ericson was holding evangelistic meetings. She came to faith in Christ and committed her life to ministry. After graduation she returned to Morden to take a two year course in nursing to receive the Licensed Practical Nurse's certificate. She then moved to Brooklyn, New York, to join the Bible Christian Union for some practical ministry training and in 1955 was sent to Germany to begin her 32 years of ministry to women and children. Della retired in 1987 in Brandon where she continued an active ministry in leading Bible studies and visitation. In 2010 her extended family came to Brandon to celebrate her 90th birthday anniversary. She is survived by two brothers, Arni in Ft. Myers, FL and Elmo in Morden, and numerous nieces and nephews.
