GRADIDGE: It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth David "Ken" Gradidge, beloved husband of Joan Gradidge, father of Brad (Linda), David (Anu) and Michael (Elaine) on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at the age of 84 years following a brief illness. Ken and Joan enjoyed over 56 years of wonderful marriage. Ken was born in Brandon, MB and was raised by his mother Mabel after his father died when Ken was 3 years of age. He lived in Brandon his entire 84 years. In 1972, Ken started his own business Diamond Welding Supplies which he ran successfully for over 20 years. Following his retirement he kept busy helping his son Brad at Action Power. He had many interests and travelled to several places with Joan and family. His most recent journey was to Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon with family this past December. Although he enjoyed travelling, his favorite place remained his cottage at Clear Lake. Ken is survived by sister-in-law Eileen Gradidge, grandchildren Lisa (Shannon), Kaylie, Scott, Matthew, Lauren and Karsen as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother Bob and wife Winona, Brother Percy, sister-inlaw Audrey Elliott, sister and brotherin-law Wahnetah and Grant Williamson, and brother and sister-in-law Al and Marjorie Hunt. The Ceremony to Celebrate Kens life will take place at Memories Chapel, 330 18th Street North, on Monday March 31, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Mr. Kurt Ardron will officiate. Private family interment will take place prior to the ceremony. Donations in memory of Ken can be made to the Brandon Regional Health Centre Foundation, 150 McTavish Avenue East, Brandon Manitoba R7A 2B3 or charity of one's choice.
