FIFI: Carol Fifi born October 2, 1955 in Belmont, MB; passed away, age 58, April 9, 2014 at Brandon Regional Health Centre. Carol grew up in Belmont, MB on the family farm, later moving to Brandon, MB where she married in 1979 to JD Bernier and had her daughter Donna in 1983. She remarried to her loving and caring husband who was the love of her life, Rene Fifi on August 26, 2000 in Brandon, MB. Carol was always known as the big hearted hard working woman. She was loved and respected by coworkers and friends everywhere she went. She spent many years doing dog sports with her daughter as that was a great passion they both shared. However, her true love was her grandchildren after being present for two of their births she was truly a woman of heart and love. She was a strong woman who was always there for her friends and family to help even if it was just an ear. After a long battle with arthritis, she is greatly missed by family and friends. Carol is predeceased by her parents Henry and Minnie Pryke, and first husband JD Bernier. Carol is survived and loved by her husband Rene Fifi; siblings Denis Pryke (Joyce Pryke), Bev McGill (Barrie McGill); daughter Donna Bernier (Derek Graham); step children Richard Laporte, Jason Bernier (Michelle Head), Blair Bernier (Melanie Thompson), Danny Fifi (Ange Vuignier), Robbie Fifi (Brittany Woodland ); her beloved grandchildren Alexa Bernier (10), Mikaela Devers (8), Aiden Meyers-Fifi (7), Lilly Meyers-Fifi (4), Alecia Brau-Fifi (15), Arianna Bernier, Spencer Bernier, Sydney Bernier, Randy Laporte, Travis Laporte, Jeremy Laporte; and several nieces and nephews. Service will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. at Smittys Family Restaurant Banquet Room, 1790 Highland Avenue, Brandon, MB; close friends and family welcome. Interment to follow at a later date. Donations may be made in Carols memory to CancerCare Manitoba, P.O. Box 2248 Stn Main, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 9Z9.
