STYLES: Doris (Doll) passed away at The Fairview Personal Care Home in Brandon, MB on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at the age of 101. Doll was born in Winnipeg on January 27, 1913. She resided there until she moved to Reston in 1994 and then Brandon in 2013. Doll was an active member of the Patricia Chapter #8 Order of the Eastern Star. She received her 50 year pin in 2004. She was a member of the Kilola Bridge Club for many years and also the Salvation Army Ladies Auxiliary. Doll kept in close touch with family and friends through many letters and phone calls. She enjoyed several trips to England to visit extended family and often played hostess when they came here. She loved to knit, play cards and games (Scrabble was a favorite), watch Jeopardy, make shortbread and help those in need. Nothing gave her more pleasure than doing for others. Doll was predeceased by her mother Edith, her father Fred, her brother Bill, her sister-in-law Florence, and her nephew Grant. She is survived by her niece Diane Fotheringham and husband Jack of Brandon and their children Jodi Fotheringham (White Rock), Lori and Fred Greig, Allison, Stephanie, Cameron (Reston), Jeff and Janine Fotheringham, Jack, Clare, Meg (Saskatoon) and Nancy Fotheringham (Brandon); Grant’s children Shane and Marla Styles, Finn, Layla, Tatum (Kelowna), Shannon Styles (Kelowna) and Kim Styles and Lev (Squamish). A memorial will be held at the Reston Anglican Church on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. The ashes will be interred in the family plot in Elmwood Cemetery in Winnipeg. Donations in Doll’s memory may be made to the Reston and Area Foundation or a charity of your choice.
