WARREN: Myrtle Doreen. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother Doreen Warren on May 09.2014, born Feb 20,1919 at Regina, SK. Was born to Fredrick and Sadie White. Born in Saskatchewan she lived there during her early life at this time contracting polio so that she had to learn how to walk again, this caused many problems in later life. Mom moved to the beautiful west coast where she eventually met dad. Wayne was born in BC and they moved to Guelph where Doug was born and she raised two young boys while dad was going to Veterinary College. They moved to Manitoba in 1950 starting Killarney Veterinary Services where mom looked after the phone and office. This business could not have run without mom and dad working together before the days of two way radios, the phone and telephone operators helped mom to keep in touch with dad during the busy calving season. During this busy time mom and dads family became complete with the birth of two daughters Lynda and Phyllis. Mom was very religious and her faith kept her over the years although she never got to church often as she never drove. She was a member of the Eastern Star. Mom was a cook who always put lots of great food on the table. She loved making Duncan Buns-and her specialties was of lots of sweet desserts. Growing up we always had lots of pets and mom did the best job of house training them. Mom and Dad spent many of their later years together field trialing with Sue and Jenny and travelling with their trailer in Western Canada. She was predeceased by her husband Kenneth in 2002 and her oldest son Wayne six weeks later. She is survived by daughter-in-law Donalda of Brandon, Doug (Irene) of Prince George BC, Lynda (Leo Seewald) of Winnipeg and Phyllis of Winnipeg. Also by grandchildren Catherine (Steve) James (Patrica) Dean, Tanya (James), Marc (Stacey), Daniel and four great-granddaughters Samatha, Ashley, Emma and Johanna. She is also survived by her sister Phyllis who lives in Bosie Idaho. We as a family would like to thank Sherrill and Barry Bartley and the staff at Bayside for all the fantastic care that mom received through the last difficult time and over the years of helping with mom.
