BOLLMAN: Albert Roy. Peacefully with his sons by his side, Albert Bollman passed away on May 22, 2014 at the Portage District General Hospital at the age of 80 years. Albert was predeceased by his wife Mary; parents Jacob and Phoebe; brothers Emery, Lloyd, Richard and Gordon; sisters Edith, Ann (James Reid), Alice (Aldor Kling) and Eunice (Donald Muir); brothers-in-law Clifford Strang, James Wilson, Albert Stecki and Duncan Emerson. He leaves to mourn sons Douglas and Mark (Teresa); grandsons Nicholas and Alexander; granddaughters Alecia and Larryn; brother Bryan (Eva); sisters Mildred, Bernice and Vera; sisters-in-law Deirdre, Ruth, Gwen and Dell Emerson; brother-in-law Robert Emerson (Diana) and numerous nieces and nephews. Albert Roy Bollman was the tenth child of Jacob and Phoebe Bollman, born July 30, 1933 at home on the parents’ farm at Moline Manitoba. Albert attended school at Moline. Upon leaving school in 1948 Albert worked on farms in the Pettapiece and Moline and Macdonald districts. In 1953 Albert joined the Army, P.P.C.L.I. – Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry– active force and served in Calgary, Alberta, two years overseas in Germany and at Esquimalt British, Columbia. He was released from the Army in the spring of 1958 and moved to MacGregor Manitoba where he met his future wife Mary Alice Emerson. Albert was married to Mary in June of 1960 and raised their sons Douglas Roy and Mark Andrew on their acreage just outside of Macgregor. He was employed by the Department of Highways in MacGregor as the works Supervisor until he retired. Albert was involved in the community hall, curling club, Boy Scouts, Grand Master of the Orange Lodge and on the MacGregor Cemetery board. Albert’s passion was his love of hunting, fishing and camping but he cherished the time spent with family especially his grandchildren the most of all. Albert will be missed by everyone who had the privilege to know him. The family would like to send their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the Portage District General Hospital as well as all the home care workers who attended to Dad in his time of need. Viewing will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2014 from 7:00-8:00 pm at Clarke’s Funeral Chapel, MacGregor.
