MAYNARD: It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother (Mae Maynard) at the age of 89 years. Mom was born in Canora, SK April 21, 1925 to Ed and Ina Steward. Mom was the eldest of 3 daughters. Alice (Ralph) Robinson, Florence (Harvey) Payne. Mom met and married E.W. (Wilf) Maynard in Deloraine, MB on June 3, 1943, together they raised their family Virginia (Wilf) Vodon Betty (George) VanMackelbergh, Lorne (Evelyn), Marie (Richard) Sorenson, Donald (infant son), Lorraine (Lorne) Saskowski, Grant (partner Heather), 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 1 great- great-grandchild. Mom and Dad resided in Deloraine where Mom worked many years in Health Care at Deloraine Hospital as well as Home Care, she was an active member of the Eastern Star, Deloraine Legion, Ladies Curling Club and the Seniors Centre where she spent many hours enjoying ceramics. Mom and Dad lived all their life in Deloraine until they retired to Lake Metigoshe in 1978, after Dad passed away Mom moved to Brandon until her passing at Fairview Home on May 29, 2014. Any one who knew Mom will remember her outgoing personality and humor, she loved company anytime for coffee and a game of cards or Scrabble, she also enjoyed her job as hostess on the bus trips to the Casinos. Mom was pre deceased by her parents, husband Wilf, sons Lorne, Donald (infant), 1 grandchild, 1 great grandchild and sister Alice. Funeral service was held in Deloraine United Church June 3/14. Pallbearers were her grandsons Geoff and Scott VanMackelbergh, Michael Vodon, Les Saskowski, Chris and Rob Maynard.
