THOMSON: David Andrew Thomson of Brandon passed away in the city on June 19, 2014. Born at Hamiota, Manitoba on December 1, 1944, David grew up on the family farm at Cardale, Manitoba with his younger siblings; three sisters and three brothers. He attended school in Cardale for his early grades then continued into high school in Oak River. While residing in Cardale, David looked after the rink and farmed for several years before moving to Brandon. While in Brandon, he worked as a security officer and then at Canadian Motors until it closed. His favorite past times were farming, and having coffee with friends. David will be remembered for his jokes and storytelling. But most of all, he loved his son, daughter and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by son Michael (Leanne), daughter Stephanie (Corey) and five grandchildren. David is also survived by his sisters Sandra and Joan (Ed) and a brother Alex. He was predeceased by his father Andrew and mother Edith, sister Linda and brothers Bill and Hugh. A Come and Go Memorial Reception will be held at Memories Chapel, 330 18th Street North on Thursday, July 3, 2014 from 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm. Everyone in attendance are considered honorary bearers. Interment will take place at Marney Cemetery at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined.
