WATT: It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Joan Watt, beloved wife of Keith and loving mother of Gord and Graham, on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at the age of 73 years. Joan was born to William (Bill) and Elsie Clarke on December 26, 1940 at Fort William, Ontario. She received her education at McKellar School in Thunder Bay, and later attended Earl Oxford and B.C.I. after moving to Brandon with her family. Following her graduation, Joan worked for the Royal Bank and then stayed at home to raise her family. She enjoyed babysitting other children during this time, and later became employed at Canadian Tire where she worked for 12 years. Joan took pleasure in reading, knitting, and embroidering. She belonged to the Beta Sigma Phi in her early years as well as the Brandon Minor Baseball and Minor Hockey Associations and the U.C.T. Joan will lovingly be remembered by her husband Keith, sons Gordon (Julie) and Graham, grandchildren Keeley and Jens Watt, brother Ted (Marnie), sister Gerry and many other extended family members. She was predeceased by her parents, Elsie and Bill Clarke. In keeping with Joans wishes, a private graveside service will be held at Rosewood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Joan may be made to the Brandon Humane Society, 2200-17th Street East, Brandon, MB, R7A 7M6. Messages of condolence may be placed at www.brockiedonovan.com.
