FULTON: We are sad to announce the death of Wilfred "Alan" Fulton of Neepawa, MB. Al entered into rest July 12,2014 at the Neepawa Health Centre at age 90 with his family by his side. Wilfred Alan Fulton was born in Winnipeg MB on Feb. 26, 1924. He was the third oldest child of Wilfred Laurier Fulton and Bessie Georgina (Bateman) Fulton. He was welcomed home by brother Robert and sister Irene on the family farm at Dauphin. Roy, Margaret, and Shirley later completed the Family. Al attended country school at Dauphin and worked on the family farm. He joined the RCAF 208551 during the second World War on Dec. 4, 1949.He was stationed at Lachine, Quebec where he was honorably discharged May 5, 1943. Al worked for CNR as a Conductor for many years. He was transferred from Dauphin to The Pas where the family lived and he worked until his retirement in 1982. In Sept. 1978, he married Mabel Moffat. They lived in The Pas until 1984 when they moved to Neepawa. In 2000, the Millenium, they hosted an Open House- Birthday party for the old house that was built in 1900. Over 60 people toured the home during the Festival and over 100 had toured the house by years' end. The proceeds from the tour were donated to the Lily Festival. Al was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion in The Pas and transferred to Neepawa where he was an active member. He sat on the Executive, attended many Conventions. He helped maintain the Legion flower beds after moving to town. He also helped distribute the Poppy Fund Boxes. He and Mabel volunteered delivering Meals on Wheels on behalf of the Legion and Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Al was an avid Blue Bomber fan and attended several Grey Cup games over the years. He enjoyed camping and travelling in their 5th wheel. He was a good neighbor and friend and will be missed by many. He is survived by his wife Mabel ;children Bettyann (McConnell) (McKenzie) Fulton, sons Jody (Michela), David (Julie), Richard (Claire) McConnell; Andrew (Samantha) and Nathan MacKenzie; Heather (John) Austin, children Shauna (Alan), Leonard (Cami), and Pamela Peters (Chris); Lana (Jeff) Haight, children Aaron (Laura), Joel (Hannah), Jared and Caleb; stepchildren Susan (Bill) Chartrand, children Deanna (Joel), Curtis; Neil Moffat and step daughter-in-law Elaine Moffat. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and extended family. He was predeceased by parents Wilfred and Bessie;former wife Dorothy and infant son Robert; brothers Robert and wife Kay; Roy and wife Millie; Sisters Irene and husband Ab; Margaret and husband Syd; and Shirley Seeley. Also by step-son Gordon Moffat. He is survived by sister-in-law Steffie Dixon and brother- in-law Gordon Seeley. A celebration of his life was held at Neepawa United Church on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at 2:00 pm. Rita Friesen Officiating. Interment in Riverside Cemetery, Neepawa, MB. Life's journey ended. If friends so desire donations can be made to Neepawa Palliative Care or a charity of choice. White's Funeral Home Neepawa, MB in care of arrangements.
