ADAMS: Bruce Wayne Adams passed away suddenly on June 29th, 2014. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Joan and three children, Brian, Michelle (Jarrod) and Jeff (Krista). He was an amazing grandfather to Paige, Madelyn, Brooklyn, Callie, Cole and Lauryn. Wayne was born in Deloraine on October 24th, 1943 to Edward and Ethel Adams. He was the youngest of three sons. Wayne was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Don and Elvin. He lived in Goodlands, Manitoba his entire life. He attended school in Goodlands and Waskada. Wayne loved all sports, especially playing ball and hockey. He earned numerous awards including several most valuable player awards and could tell many stories about playing years of hockey with the Goodlands-Waskada Comets and later with the Brandon Wheat Kings. Wayne was very proud of the accomplishments made by the Comets over the years. Wayne was also a hard worker. At the age of 12 he began keeping the books for his father’s family business. He and his brother Elvin later built and ran a thriving concrete and gravel business in Deloraine, MB. Wayne enjoyed visiting with people more than anything. He spent endless hours pontooning with friends and family and was always available to lend a hand to those in need. Many of those people came together to celebrate Wayne’s life in the Goodlands Heritage Centre on Thursday, July 3rd and numerous people from various communities gathered into the United Church in Deloraine on July 4th, 2014 for Wayne’s funeral. He will be sadly missed and remembered by all who knew him.
