BROOKS: Alfred (Alf) Richard Brooks July 5, 1937 September 3, 2014. Alf was born at Misericordia Hospital and educated in Elmwood, Glenella and Brandon, where he received a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Education from Brandon College. Alf spent a valuable year at the Royal Military College in Kingston. He taught in Grandview from 1960-1962 and in Virden Collegiate from 1962-1989; where he taught English, History and French. In 1989 he was appointed as a staff officer with the Manitoba Teachers Society and served in Welfare services until retirement in June 1996. Through the years he enjoyed time with his family and many trips in Canada and Europe. He was predeceased by his parents Wes and Molly Brooks and niece Andrea. Left are his loved and loving wife Lily Mikijaniec, sons Sean (Brenda), Kevin (Betsy), grandchildren Kaelen, Keir, Griffin, Makeer, Deng, Agot, Caity, brother Dave (Carol) and sister Mary Jane (Jim). Remembered also by Beth, Cheryl, Natalie, Sandra, Sasha and Christopher. Cremation has taken place.
