SEMCHYSHYN: Johnathan Edward Semchyshyn (1973- 2014). Johnathan was born in Brandon, Manitoba on March 24, 1973 to Marvin E. Semchyshyn and Evelyn C. Semchyshyn (Russell). John is survived by both of his Parents; his older Sister Frances; two younger Brothers, Peter and Michael; his two Niece's Stephanie and Amy; his three Nephew's Izyn, Hayden, and Zachary; his great Niece River; and his great Nephew Dean. Johnathan lived in his birth town of Brandon until about the age of 21. He managed at Kelsey's and The Keg for several years before leaving Brandon. Shortly after this, he moved to Toronto where he would continue his work in the Hospitality Trade. He then moved to Bermuda, USA to manage a restaurant called Ozone; this is where he would meet his future wife, Michelle. John and Michelle married and moved to Buffalo, NY where they would purchase their first home. After approximately three years, he and his wife divorced, and John moved to Manhattan, NYC. Here he would manage various restaurants specializing in fine foods and wine, ending with John managing a string of restaurants called "Bocca di Bacco." John would live the remainder of his days here in New York, where he loved to be, and doing what he loved. Sadly, John passed away suddenly at the age of 41 on May 22, 2014. Johnathan was dearly loved by countless friends and family, including aunts, uncles and cousins. He will be greatly missed. A Celebration of Johnathan’s Life will be held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street, on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Messages of condolence may be placed at www.brockiedonovan.com.
