BALLARD: James (Jim) David, 20 June 1945-22 August 2014. It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Jim at his home in Kenora, Ont. on Aug.22nd at age of 69 (pre-deceased by his parents Verla and George Ballard of Medora Manitoba, and brother Perry). Survived by his son Daniel of Moosejaw, Saskatchewan: his brothers, Don ( Jefferie), of Nanimo, British Columbia, and Jack ( Fran) of Whitby, Ontario, sister-in-law Betty of Morden, Manitoba, nieces Melenie, Monica, Kelly, A.J., nephews Kevin, Adam and all their families. Also survived by his ex wives Gerry from Moosejaw Sask. and Eileen from Winnipeg Man. and his many friends and family too numerous to list but not forgotten. Jim touched many people during his life in Medora, Winnipeg, Thunderbay and Kenora where he lived and worked . He particularly liked Kenora where he and Gerry lived after they were married and he had recently moved back to. He enjoyed boating, fishing and spending time with Daniel in Kenora and at the cottage on Lake of the Woods. Jim always faced life’s challenges with a positive outlook. He was immensely proud of Daniel and was involved in his life and his successes. He continued to work right up to the time of his death. He said he enjoyed the interaction with people in his job. He always said he was on the Freedom 85 retirement plan. Jim will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends. In keeping with Jim’s wishes no funeral will be held. Cremation with internment, with family members, at the Medora Cemetery will be held on October 18th at 2:00 pm. Following the internment a reception is planned in the Medora School Auditorium for all his friends and family to remember and celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundations in Jim’s name would be greatly appreciated.
