BEECH: Wilfred Harvey Beech passed away suddenly on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre with his wife Pat and daughter Jackie by his side. Wilfred was born October 13, 1936 in Portage La Prairie. He was the youngest of his four siblings by just a few minutes to his twin brother Bert. His family had a small farm just south west of Portage La Prairie. Wilf's childhood was very simple, there was not much money to be had in those times. His father worked at the airport and cleaned up plane debris while his mother worked hard on the farm raising five children that included two sets of twins. After Wilf's education he went to work at a variety of jobs. He met and married his first wife and had two children Kim and Kelly, they lived in the Hartney area. After the separation and divorce Wilf moved back to Brandon where he worked for Cancade as a welder. Wilf soon met Pat through a friend and married and had a daughter Jackie. Wilf continued to work for Cancade for thirty-five years, then went to work for Grant Hall until his full retirement at the age of 65. He spent his retirement going for coffee with his friends and hanging around at the mall. Wilf is survived and well remembered by his wife Pat of thirty-nine years, children Kim (Kevin) Ross, Kelly (Kathy), Jacqueline (James) Jones, grandchildren: Michael, Rhonda, Leigh, Bryanne, Chanda, Kaol, Ryan, Lana, Tessa, Matthew, and Andrew, great-grandchildren: Kane, Abigail, Jackson, William, Dannielle, Cady, Ethan and Autumn. Wilfred is also survived by sisters Joan Defoort, Joyce Brown and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother Baby Beech, parents Walter and Velma, twin brother Bert, sister and brother-in-law Audrey (Earl "Bud") Davies and brother- in-law Albert Defoort. Wilf will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Wilf was never too quick to have loving words or flowery speech. He had a rough exterior and a witty sense of humour, but his family knew it covered a soft, loving heart. The Ceremony to Celebrate Wilf's Life was held at Memories Chapel on Thursday, October 23, 2014 with Rev. Barb Jardine officiating. Donations in memory of Wilf may be made to the Parkinson Society of Manitoba, 208 - 1011 Rosser Avenue, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 0L5. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.memorieschapel.com.Arrangements with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 204-727-0330.
