DOUGLAS: James Alexander Douglas, beloved husband of the late Marion Douglas and loving father of Maureen Kolosky and Perry Douglas passed away at Fairview Home on Thursday, October 30, 2014 in his 90th year. Jim was born in Saskatchewan on April 9, 1925 and spent his childhood in Saskatchewan. In 1952, he married Marion McKenzie. He farmed in early years and drove semi truck. In later years, he drove long haul for several firms, but most recently with TransX. He retired from driving at age 68 years. Jim enjoyed music, camping and fishing with the family and the numerous family gatherings over the years. Following his retirement, Jim enjoyed golf and baseball. He was predeceased by his wife, Marion in 2011. Jim is survived by his daughter, Maureen (Jack) Kolosky and his son, Perry; one grandson, Michael (Kristyn) Kolosky and two great grandchildren: Hayley and Blake. Jim also leaves one brother, Ken Douglas, numerous nieces and nephews. The Funeral Ceremony will be held at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Phil Price of Bethel Christian Assembly officiating. Interment will follow at the Brandon Cemetery. Donations in memory of James may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Unit A1 - 800 Rosser Avenue, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 6N5.
