MYERS: Joan (Joanne) Myers (née Elliott) passed away peacefully at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Monday, November 3, 2014 at the age of 95 years. Joan was born in Brandon on March 28, 1919. She grew up here and graduated from Brandon Collegiate before attending The University of Manitoba where she received a degree in Home Economics. Her interests were wide ranging and included tennis, golf, bridge, sailing and travel. She was an active member of Central Uniteds U.C.W., the Brandon Hospital Auxiliary and the Kinsmen/K40 service club. However, Joannes main focus was her family and home. She was our role model and dearly loved by all. Joanne is survived by her husband of 73 years Bob, her children Joan Foster of Thunder Bay, ON, Barbara Olivella (Barry) of Lunenburg N.S., Bill Myers (Lana) of Brandon, Elizabeth Duncan (Scott) of Medicine Hat, AB., 14 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. No one could ask for a better wife, mother or Nana. She always inspired us with her sense of humour, patience, and genuine interest in all her familys endeavours. We have been truly blessed. Rest in peace Nana. A Celebration of Joans Life will be held at Central United Church, 327-8th Street, on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ken DeLisle officiating. Interment will follow at the Brandon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Joan may be made to a charity of choice. Messages of condolence may be placed at www.brockiedonovan.com.
