TOEWS: Krista Lauree (nee Carefoot), loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter and sister, age 44 years, passed away in the arms of her beloved husband Dwayne and her parents Pauline and Russ at Foothills Hospital, Calgary on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 following a courageous five year battle with cancer. Krista was born in Brandon on August 8, 1970 and attended her schooling at Meadows Elementary, Harrison Jr. High and Crocus Plains High School graduating in 1988. Krista and Dwayne were married September 1, 1990 and welcomed son Dylan in August, 1992 and son Logan in February 1995. Krista was employed in the oil and gas industry for many years in Calgary as a geological mapping technician having taken courses at SAIT over the years to further her education. Since 2008 Krista was employed with MEG Energy of Calgary who have been an incredibly caring and supportive employer. More recently Krista enjoyed working as a Community Investment Adviser with MEG Energy and she truly enjoyed the position and the contact with various groups in need. A Celebration of Krista’s life was held November 19, 2014 at the Country Hills Golf and Country Club, Calgary as an informal gathering of family and friends in a beautiful afternoon of remembering, love, laughter and tears. Krista is survived by and will be lovingly remembered forever by her husband Dwayne and dear sons Dylan and Logan, her parents Russ and Pauline Carefoot, her brother Trevor (Kathleen) Carefoot and her sister Stacey Brown. Her aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends will always remember her fondly. Krista was predeceased by her maternal grandparents Jimmie and Nellie Stamp and her paternal grandparents Clarence and Bernice Carefoot.
