SCOTT: Douglas Allan, age 74 years, passed away at the Riverdale Health Centre on Saturday, November 29, 2014. Doug was born E1/2 4-12-20 in the R.M. of Daly on December 1, 1939 and enjoyed helping Cliff on the farm while living there with his mom (Laura), and siblings Russell and Arleigh. Doug attended Robinville Country School. Over the years, Doug had many different occupations including driving a school bus for 22 years with Rolling River School Division, working at the Town of Rivers waste disposal site, fireman/policeman for Oo-Za-We-Kwun Centre, yard foreman for Revelstoke Lumber in Grand Prairie, Alberta, and truck driver for Taylor and Sons of Rivers. Doug was also a charter member of the Rivers and Area Lions Club. He enjoyed farming, fishing, and hockey and baseball games. Doug is survived by his wife Diane; sons Dean, Dennis (Deb), Derrick (Lisa) and Dallas (Kristen); grandchildren Jillian, Matthew, Brody, Nicholas, MaKenna, and Daniel; sister Arleigh White, as well as many nieces and nephews. Doug was predeceased by his mother Laura Scott; father Garnet Scott; brother Russell (Lucille) Scott, step-father Cliff Robins; grandson Shawn Scott, niece Kerry Gertzon and nephew Wally Poitras. The Funeral Ceremony took place at St. James Anglican Church, Rivers, Manitoba on Thursday, December 4, 2014. The Ven. Paul Curtis officiated. Urn bearer was Nicholas Scott. Interment followed at the Roseville Cemetery. Donations in memory of Douglas may be made to Riverdale Palliative Care, Box 428, Rivers, Manitoba, R0K 1X0.
