BIRCH: Peacefully with her family at her side, Shirley Kathleen Birch passed away on Dec. 8, 2014 at the Brandon General Hospital, at the age of 85. She was the youngest child of Dunc and Hughena White. She met Walter Birch and they were married in 1948. They had a son Brian and two daughters, Linda and Brenda. They spent their early years farming and then moved into Neepawa, MB, where she worked at Swifts and then in the laundry at East View Lodge until retiring. She was residing in Elks Manor in Neepawa. She was predeceased by her husband Walter, her parents, her brother Clarence and sister Helen; as well as many brothers and sisters-in-law. She is survived by her son Brian (Nancy), daughters Linda (Wayne), Brenda (Arnold) and a special adopted daughter Sharon. She is also survived by her grandchildren BJ (Diane), Bob (Ashleigh), Bryce (Christina), Lisa (Richard) and Chris (Melissa); great grandchildren Avery, Kelsey, Kennedy, Claire, Hunter, Brenna, Ashley, Mason and Caelin; brother-in-law Doug Birch (Lois) and several special nieces and nephews. The funeral service was held on December 12, 2014, in the Neepawa United Church, Neepawa, MB; with Kristin Wood officiating. Interment was at Riverside Cemetery, Neepawa, MB. Donations may be made to the Neepawa District Palliative Care Service or a charity of choice. Whites Funeral Home, Neepawa, MB in care of arrangements. 1-204-476-2848.
