MAYOR: John “Jack” Lisle Mayor. Peacefully with family at his side on Thursday, January 1, 2015 at the Portage District General Hospital Jack Mayor of Portage, beloved husband of the late Shirley Mayor passed away at the age of 82 years. A Graveside service will be held in the Amaranth Cemetery on Thursday, January 8, 2015 were Jack will be laid to rest. Jack was born in Portage la Prairie and was raised and received his education in the Amaranth District. In 1953 while living in Calgary he married Shirley Lundy. Jack serviced in the army for 25 years living at several bases both in Canada and abroad. After leaving the military he drove truck for several years and eventually after retiring they moved to Portage la Prairie. Jack enjoyed watching all sports. He enjoyed taking his dogs for walks and his greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents, his wife Shirley, he leaves to mourn his passing his three sons: Ted (Kerry-Mae), and Terry both of Rivers, and John of Portage, five grandchildren; Tanis, Kristen, Savannah, Lee and Ali, four great-grandchildren; Charli -Ann, Brodie, Amaru, and Amaya. Also surviving is one sister Joyce Mathews of Winnipeg and several nieces and nephews.
