CABLE: Joyce "Betty" Rose Cable, a resident of Victoria Landing, passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at the Assiniboine Centre. Betty was born on February 25, 1933 in Brandon where she lived her entire life attending Park, Earl Oxford and Brandon Collegiate schools. After completing school, she was employed at Eaton's. Betty is survived by her beloved husband and best friend of 64 years, Mel; daughters Donna (Earl) McNutt and Linda (Doug) Wilson; six dearly loved grandchildren: Chris MacDearmid, Sarah and Laura McNutt; and Matthew, Emma and Abigail Wilson; brothers-in-law Gordon (Trudy) Cable and Donald (Linda) Cable; and nieces and nephews. Betty was predeceased by her parents Charles and Naomi Hill, sister Anne and brother-in-law Grant Jamieson, and niece Karen Cable. Betty was a very quiet person who devoted her life to looking after her family. She enjoyed attending Hydro-X gatherings, Shriners events, and travelling with Mel. Betty took great pleasure in spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. At Bettys request, the family will honour her memory at a private graveside service. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of the Palliative Care Centre of the Assiniboine Centre for their kind and compassionate treatment.
