ROBINSON: Evelyn Marie Robinson of Valleyview Care Centre, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 15, 2015, after a brief illness at the age of 92 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Wes, daughters Janet (Ron) Krebs, Diane (Wayne) Ferguson, 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren: Greg (Kyla) Joyce, Wes, Mitchell and Autumn; Tim (Theresa) Joyce, Colby and Jaecia; Krista Ferguson (Grant Penn) Ezra and Adrianne; Loni (April) Ferguson. Evelyn was born on September 10, 1922 to Wilfred and Ruby Anderson at Manson, Manitoba. Losing her father at a very young age, Evelyn and her mother moved to the Peterson Farm at Fleming, SK, where she grew up. She attended school at Archie, Elkhorn and Brandon Normal School in 1941. She began her teaching career at Joslin and Ross (Two Creeks) schools, north of Virden. This is where she met the love of her life Wes. They were married July 5, 1944. They farmed for a few years, before moving to Miniota where they operated Robinson's Transfer and a small cafe, Robbie's Highway Lunch. Mom was a great cook and soon became well known for her pie making. Moving to Brandon in 1957, she began teaching grade 5 at Park and J. R. Reid schools. Her musical ability to play the piano by ear, entertained family, friends and neighbours. Many of our family fun times were around the piano singing and dancing. Her greatest enjoyment after retiring from teaching was spending many winters in Arizona, summers at Sandy Lake with the grandchildren, and travelling in their motor home visiting family and friends across Canada and the US. Evelyn and Wes celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary last July with their family, which will be forever in our memories. "One Last Dance". God Bless You, Mom - We Will Miss You - A Long Life, Well Lived. A celebration of life will take place at another time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Arthritis Society, Suite 105-386 Broadway Ave. Winnipeg MB. R3C 3R6 or to a charity of choice. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.memorieschapel.com.Arrangements with Memories Chapel & Pre-Planning Centre, 204-727-0330.
