TWITCHELL: Harold Retired Air Canada Captain 19342015.Harold passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 24, 2015, at St. Josephs Health Centre in Guelph, ON, in his 80th year. Beloved husband and best friend to Barbara for 59 years, with whom he shared many wonderful times and adventures. Loving father to Garth (Linda), Karen (Bob), and grandfather to David (Ludivine), John (Lucy), Pamela (Steve), Lan, and Aaron. Loving brother of Marlene Moffat (Harold) of Calgary. Predeceased by his parents Frank and Vera Twitchell of Brandon, Manitoba. Harold grew up in Brandon, where he began his career as a pilot with Trans- Canada Airlines. He retired from Air Canada as a Boeing 767 Captain on December 31, 1991, after more than 39 years of service. In addition to flying, Harold also loved spending time at the cottage, exploring nature, skiing, woodworking, and enjoying the companionship of family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Josephs for the excellent care they provided to Harold over the past two years. There will be a celebration of life reception from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2015, in Reid Hall in the Village Centre, Village by the Arboretum, 221 Stone Road East, Guelph, ON. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Parkinson Society Central and Northern Ontario (www.parkinsonCNO.ca) or another charity are welcome.
