WINSTONE-ELLEMENT: Margaret Shirley Winstone-Ellement of Brandon and formerly of Strathclair passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Hillcrest Place Personal Care Home in Brandon at the age of 94 years. She was born August 4, 1920 on the home farm in the Holylea District, the 8th and last surviving child of Reginald and Maggie Moffatt. She married Edward William Winstone on January 1st, 1946 and lived on the Winstone farm south west of Strathclair until her retirement after which she moved to Brandon. She was pre-deceased by Edward on March 10, 1985. Shirley was an active member in the community and loved to curl, she was the last surviving member of the Strathclair curling team that represented Manitoba in the Diamond D play-downs in Ottawa in 1961 known now as Scotties Tournament of Hearts. She was a longstanding member of Eastern Star attaining the position of Grand Worthy Matron. She leaves to mourn her four sons, Jim, Gerald, Raymond and Ron and her daughter Jeanne, and her daughters-in-law, Linda, Darlene, Debbie and Suzanne. She will be lovingly remembered by her eleven grand children, Tara, Dean, Dallas Whitney, Ryan, Shauna, Chad, Brad, Megan, Jarad and Thomas, and her six great grand children, Jazmin, Luka, Marisa, Kaia, Zoie, and Presley. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place in Strathclair in late spring early summer. Rae’s Funeral Service of Shoal Lake will be in charge of arrangements.
