SHURVELL: Earle Shurvell - Dec. 12, 1925 - Jan. 31, 2015. It is with deepest sorrow the family of Earle Shurvell announce his passing on Saturday, January 31st, 2015 at the Minnedosa Hospital. Earle was born on December 12, 1925 in Isabella, the son of Herbert and Annie Shurvell. He leaves to mourn his wife of 60 years Marcia andhis children Bette Monaghan (Paddy) of Toronto, ON, Bill ofKamloops, B.C., Albert (Holly) of Newdale, Lynne Wruth (Mark) of Erickson, Keith (Sally) of Shoal Lake, Calvin (Charlene) of Strathclair, Leanne Judd (Brian) of Sandy Lake, Dennis of Calgary, AB., 18 grandchildren, 12 great- grandchildren, sisters Doreen Whyte of Brandon and Olive Thorkelson of Winnipeg and many nieces and nephews. Earle was predeceased by his parents, brothers Terry, Wes, Cliff, Art, Murray, William, Ken, and Lloyd. Earle went to work at a very young age and did various jobs working in a shell factory, later joining the merchant Navy sailing on the SS Aragon on the Great Lakes, also working as a grain buyer and in the Virden oil fields for anumber of years. In 1959, he purchased the Virden Radiator shop, later building the Shoal Lake Radiator shop in 1970 until his retirement. Earle raised his family at North Thomas Lake - Eagle Point Resort and enjoyed many hours fishing, hunting, and guiding in the area. Earle enjoyed playing cards and going on gambling trips until his final days. He always enjoyed spending time and joking around with family and friends as that was important to him. A private family service will be held. If friends desire, donationsmay be made in memory of Earle to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or a charity of your choice.
