SOLDAN: Edward James Soldan, Sept. 13, 1917 - June 16, 2013 and Sylvia Elsie Ada Soldan, Feb. 14, 1921 - Jan. 23, 2015. With love and deep sadness, the Ceremony to Remember the Lives of Jim and Sylvia was held at Memories Chapel on January 29, 2015. Left to cherish their memory are: son Gerald and daughter, Sandra Constable; Granddaughters, Shauna (Mike) Turnbull and Susan Constable (Shaune Dornian) and great grandchildren; Matt, Danika and Kade Turnbull, Ashley Constable(Warren Hardy) and Serina McGregor, also one great great grandson, Malyn Hardy. Jim and Sylvia grew up in Moline, Manitoba and were married on November 10, 1942. They lived and raised their family on the homestead farm, retiring in 1991. They remained in the family home for many years, continuing their community involvement and able to enjoy the senior activities of bowling, cards, shuffleboard and darts with their Rapid City friends. They moved to Highland Park Estates in Brandon in 2001. Due to failing health, they both moved to Fairview Home in 2008 and while there, they celebrated their Seventieth Wedding Anniversary. They were special to many of the staff and the family thank them for their kindness and care. Jim and Sylvia were predeceased by their parents, Ed and Maria Soldan, Richard and Ethel Newitt: Sylvia's brothers; Ray (Bernice) Newitt, Syd (Audrey) Newitt, Art Newitt and by son-in-law Mel Constable. A private interment will be held at the Rapid City Cemetery at a later date.
