CORBEYChristian “Chris” Hendrik Corbey, 90, died February 23, 2015 at Fairview Home in Brandon. Chris was born in Thorn, Netherlands, on January 5, 1925. He immigrated to Canada in 1953 along with his brother Victor, Victor’s wife Gabrielle and their children, Harriet, John and Frank. Chris then went to work at the Stan Henry farm in Oak River. In 1957 he then moved and worked alongside his brother Victor on the home farm. Chris was a school bus driver for many years with Rolling River School Division. Chris loved horses and enjoyed showing them at local fairs. He also loved nature and bird watching. He was a very happy person and could be found whistling every morning. Chris would always lend a hand, no matter how big or small the task. He will be missed Chris leaves to mourn his only surviving sister, Annie Seerden (Netherlands), his companion Mary Radsma, sister-in-law Gabrielle Corbey, nephews John and Frank Corbey, nieces Mary-Ann and Vicky, numerous nephews, nieces and cousins in Netherlands and Canada. A private service will be held at a later date. If friends so desire, donations in memory of Chris may be made to a charity of choice.
