ANGUS (1941-2015): Wayne James left us peacefully on the morning of March 11, 2015 surrounded by loved ones. Wayne was born to Connie and Jim Angus April 19, 1941. He completed his schooling at Crandall, MB, and on his 18th birthday while still in Grade 12, he started driving school van, and for the next 53 years drove kids to school. Wayne married Doreen Margaret Kirk on July 29, 1967 and they farmed together for the next 47 years. Their son Chris was born in 1970 and Wayne became a loving and devoted dad. He enjoyed being a hockey dad and a cub and scout leader. At the same time he pursued his love of curling in winter and camping with family and friends in summer. Chris married Kim in 2005, giving him the daughter he never had. Wayne developed a love of the land early in life working with his dad and was always happy with his career choice of mixed farming. Wayne became a rural councillor in 1982. He continued in that capacity for 32 years, rarely missing a meeting as he conscientiously represented his area. His struggle with cancer was long and arduous, and his family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and support staff at Hamiota Health Centre, Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, and Brandon Regional Health Centre. We feel fortunate to have such excellent health care in our province. Wayne will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife Doreen, son Chris, daughter-in-law Kim, brother Barry, sister Lynn (Doug) and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Special thanks to Rev. Doug Martindale and Campbell Funeral Home for exceptional support and services. Donations may be made in Waynes honour to CancerCare Manitoba, P.O. Box 2248, Station Main, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 9Z9, Hamiota United Church Memorial Fund, Hamiota, MB, R0M 0T0, or Hamiota Agricultural society, Hamiota, MB, R0M 0T0.
