ZENCHYSHYN: It is with profound sadness the family announce the passing of Jean Zenchyshyn on March 26th 2015 in Brandon, Manitoba. Edna Jean Zenchyshyn was born to Stewart and Matilda Zelmer on May 12, 1934 on a little homestead north of Sinclair. She was the 4th born of 9 children. She attended the country school of Bardal until Grade 8. Jean moved to Brandon where she married Norman Mitchell in 1952. Ron was born in 1955. She married Stan Zenchyshyn where Randy was born in 1965, and Laurie was born in 1967. 1997 brought the reunion of her daughter Evelynne of Ninette. She owned the Sandy Land Inn in Pipestone where she worked many long hours. Thru the years and retirement Jean worked for Pipestone Hall, interior painting, and the most special was return to cooking where she made perogies and cabbage rolls. In retirement Jean lived in Pipestone, in Ninette and made a move to Brandon to the Hobbs Manor. She spent much time cooking and eventually created her own cook book compiling hers and family favorites. She did many crafts such as ceramics, knitting, plastic canvas, painting, greeting cards and scrapbooking. Jean always had much fun playing cards, Bingo, crib, shuffleboard and attending a casino on occasion. She had a special relationship with her 2 great-granddaughters Novalee and Maddison. Jean will be fondly remembered for her determined nature and her love of a great day of fishing in the summer or on the ice! Left to mourn are Daughter Laurie (Barry) Flannery, grandchildren Terry (Jessica) and Amy and Great grandchildren Novalee and Maddison; Son Randy Zenchyshyn; Son Ron (Sandra) Mitchell, grandchildren Sheldon, Chenelle and Sasha; Daughter Evelynne (Dave) Garabed, grandchildren Tammy (Mike) Pugh, Shelly (Doug) DeBacker, Darcy (Laura) Garabed, Duke (Lorna) Garabed and Great grandchildren Korey, Karissa, Kieran, Gavin, Liam, Jace, Sierra, Sydney, Brayden, Tanner. Also left to mourn are Brother Chuck (Carole) Zelmer, and Sisters Helen (Ken) Zarn, Shirl (Verne) Anderson, and Betty (Eugene) Bender, sister in law Dale Zelmer and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Service was on March 26th in the Pipestone Hall with burial in the family plot in Reston Manitoba.
