TAME: Lorraine Helen Mary Tame (née Grandison), passed away peacefully at the Brandon Regional Heath Centre on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at the age of 81 years. Born August 7, 1933 in Brandon, Lorraine was predeceased by her parents John Grandison and Lea Grandison (née Langevin), brothers: Edgar, Ralph, Noel, Ernie and Don and sisters: Doris, Jean, and Leanne. Lorraine will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 56 years, Lawrence Reginald Tame (Lawrie), sister Maureen Silver of California, children Reg (Linda) of Brandon and Bill of Abbotsford, B.C., grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, sister-in-law Laurine Grandison, and by many other extended family members, as well as her friends. Lorraine lived most of her life in Brandon, but also spent about 25 years in Calgary. Her work included Rumford’s Laundry and Brandon Packers in Brandon, the Stampeder Hotel and the Scottish Nursing Home in Calgary. She also completed a hairdressing course while in Calgary. Lorraine served on the board at the Oasis Senior Centre in Brandon and was a member of the Crocus Seniors. She enjoyed membership in the Army and Navy Club with Lawrie as well. Lorraine was an avid reader, and she loved Bingo nights with her friends. She was known for her laughter, giggles and her famous reply to compliments, “I know!” She loved to bake, knit and cook for family and friends too. She and Lawrie welcomed people into their home for yard parties, which were always a big success, with plenty of food and fun. Many thanks to Dr. Santdasani and the Palliative Care staff at Brandon Regional Health Centre. A special thank you to her niece, Susan Robbins for the loving, attentive care she gave Lorraine, which was a gift to us all. Lorraine’s love was felt and will always be cherished by those who knew and loved her. All friends and family are welcome to attend a Come and Go Remembrance Tea on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the Army and Navy Club, 31 - 14th Street in Brandon to share memories and celebrate Lorraine’s life. Elevator available. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 415 - 1st Street, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 2W8.
